Amélioration de la Gestion des Urgences Sanitaires à Diourbel : Une Coordination Renforcée pour des Soins Efficaces
As part of the 2019-2028 National Health Development Plan (NHDP), Senegal is paying particular attention to improving emergency health care. However, the organization of care, coordination of stakeholders, and resource availability remain major challenges.
To address this, the Directorate General of Health Institutions organized a major coordination meeting at the Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim National Hospital Center (CHNCAK). This meeting brought together the key stakeholders involved in emergency management in the Diourbel region: hospital directors, regional chief physicians, district chief physicians, and emergency department (ED) coordinators.
Meeting objectives:
Clarify the roles and responsibilities of each facility.
Improve referral and counter-referral procedures.
Strengthen the organization and efficiency of emergency department (ED) services.
This initiative is essential to ensure rapid and effective access to care in emergency situations, while improving the responsiveness of the health system at the regional level.
