The Pediatrics Department at the Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim National Hospital Center (CHNCAK) is dedicated to the comprehensive care of children, from birth through adolescence. Led by Dr. Mandiaye Mbodji, a pediatric emergency physician, the department offers a specialized and attentive approach to meet the diverse health needs of young patients. With a multidisciplinary team, the pediatrics department is committed to providing quality care, combining medical expertise with special attention to children and their families.

Our pediatrics department is equipped with modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure optimal care for young patients, meeting the highest international standards.
- Neonatology Unit: Equipped with warming tables, closed incubators, ventilators, phototherapy lamps, and heating lamps, providing specialized care for newborns.
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Outfitted with vital signs monitors and ventilators, this room is designed to provide intensive and immediate care for critically ill children.
- General Pediatrics: Includes ultrasound machines, ventilators, and vital signs monitors for the monitoring and treatment of hospitalized children.
- Kangaroo Care Unit: Specially designed for the follow-up care of premature or special-needs newborns, promoting parent-child bonding.
These facilities and equipment enable our pediatrics department to offer comprehensive and tailored care to meet the specific needs of each child, ensuring their safety and comfort.

The team behind the service
The Pediatrics Department is led by Dr. Mandiaye Mbodji, a hospital practitioner and pediatric emergency physician with a diploma in fetal medicine. The medical-surgical team also includes Dr. Aliou Mar Coundoul (Pediatrician - Cardio-Pediatric Consultation), Dr. Khady NDOYE (Pediatrician - Sickle Cell Disease Consultation), Dr. Sokhna Sy LO (Pediatrician - Neonatology Consultation), as well as three pediatric surgeons: Dr. Cheikh Fall Samb (Pediatric Surgeon and Surgery Coordinator), Dr. Ndeye Fatou SECK (Pediatric Surgeon), and Dr. Aissatou BADIANE (Pediatric Surgeon).
