Presentation of the service
The Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim National Hospital Center (CHNCAK) of Touba is a reference establishment which offers quality health care to the population. The nursing service constitutes an essential link in the healthcare system, guaranteeing optimal care for hospitalized or outpatient patients.
Missions of the service
Placed under the authority of the Director of the establishment, he is responsible for the general coordination of care, rehabilitation and medical-technical activities. He is a member of the management team within which he has an advisory and decision-making role. He has, by delegation from the director, hierarchical authority over all paramedical executives (e.g. duty supervisors). In this context, he chairs the nursing, rehabilitation and medical-technical care committee.
He is responsible for the design and implementation of the care project through a policy of continuous improvement of the quality and safety of care defined with all the professionals concerned. As such, its mission is:
- General Organization and Management of Care;
- Project development and implementation;
- Distribution and organization of paramedical personnel;
- Organization of the balanced distribution of care resources at the establishment level;
- Ensures continuity of care and consistency of patient care pathways; Performance improvement to ensure quality of care;
- Training and Research in nursing;
- Coordination of the implementation and evaluation of care; Support for continuing training of paramedical staff; Coordination of practical internship activities for students in training.
In order to fully fulfill his duties, the head of the department is assisted by three division heads and a secretary. He collaborates with all heads of administrative and medical-technical departments and coordinates care activities in close collaboration with department supervisors and paramedical staff.

The team behind the service
The Nursing Service team at the Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim National Hospital Center in Touba is made up of:
- Head of the nursing service: Senior technician in Teaching/Administration and health services administrator, holder of a Master2 in management of health establishments;
- Head of the Training and Supervision Division: a Senior Health Technician in Education/Administration or equivalent or an experienced State Registered Nurse;
- Head of the Quality and Research Division: a nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in quality
The service remains to be provided in:
Secretary: an agent with an experienced BTS level;
Head of the Hospital Hygiene Division: a Senior Health Technician in Education/Administration or equivalent or an experienced operating room nurse.
Mr Ismaila MBAYE
Service chief
Mr. Ismaila MBAYE, a state-certified nurse and Higher Health Technician in Teaching Administration, is a health services administrator with a Master 2 in Management of Health Establishments. He first worked for three years in health data management at MSAS, then headed the Nursing Department at the Grand Yoff General Hospital for eight years. Subsequently, he was regional human resources manager for the HRH2030/Chemonics/USAID project. Since April 2022, he has been Head of the Nursing Service at CHNCAK and coordinates nursing activities.
